Hamed Ahmadinia is a doctoral candidate in Information studies at Åbo Akademi University, Turku, Finland. Hamed has a diverse academic background ranging from accounting to information studies that is why he is interested in conducting multidisciplinary studies where he can apply his quantitative and qualitative skills in studies related to value creation for various beneficiaries ranging from the public (e.g., public health or public finance) to individuals (e.g., individual health or personal finance). Currently, he is a doctoral candidate in Information Studies at Åbo Akademi University, Turku, Finland.
His current research focus lies on health information seeking and minorities where he is aiming at understanding what motivate individuals with diverse backgrounds to seek for health-related information, what are the barriers in the process of the information seeking, what factors influence information seeking activities, and how individuals interpret and use obtained health-related information. Therefore, his current key area of research is related to information science, health information behaviour, health information literacy, health communication, e-health, and minorities. Currently, Hamed is gaining skills and experience in big data analytics by which he aims at applying modern social science research principles and current analytical and computational tools.
