Abstract
In this work, virtual sensing methods for estimation of unknown inputs and states of a ship propulsion system is presented. Dynamical models of the propulsion system together with indirect measurements are used to estimate torque and angular velocities at various locations of the system. A case study where a simulation model of the propulsion system of a hybrid ship is used to demonstrate the performance of the proposed methods.
