Sammanfattning

The chapter deals with the reception and interpretation of the Abrahamic promise and its relation to Jacob (as the hermeneutical key) in Jubilees, highlighting the differences between Genesis and Jubilees in certain key passages. In Jubilees, there is a gradual widening (from particularism to universalism) of the promised land to refer to the whole earth (under the control of Jacob and his seed), and simultaneously a narrowing (universalism to particularism) of the promise of seed/nations coming from Abraham to only refer to Jacob and hsi seed. Also, the universal blessing is particularized, as only Jacob and his seed will really profit from it.
