Using the terminal velocity for determining the size of minute gas bubbles in water

Forskningsoutput: TidskriftsbidragArtikelVetenskapligPeer review

Sammanfattning

Gas dissolved in ordinary tap water is released and forms bubbles whenpoured into a vessel. The sub-millimeter bubbles move towards the surfacewith a terminal velocity of only few millimeters per second. The terminalvelocity can be used for estimating the average size of the bubbles. The resultis confirmed by observing the bubbles visually in a microscope.
