Sammanfattning

The shipping industry primarily facilitates the transportation of goods, with a smaller segment dedicated to cruise ferries and Roll-On/Roll-off (RoRo) vessels that carry vehicles and passengers. A challenge faced by many vessels is maintaining reliable Internet connectivity while navigating the open waters, which requires the use of costly satellite connections compared to land-based alternatives. Thus, the onboard mesh network, which is for managing the Internet connectivity plays a crucial role in optimizing bandwidth usage for both personnel and IoT devices involved in monitoring. In this context, this article addresses onboard communication through a collection of standards for reliable equipment, ensuring Ultra Reliable Low Latency Communication (URLLC).
