In today’s rapidly evolving business environment, organisations must prioritize their capabilities to remain competitive and adapt to shifting market conditions. This study investigates how emerging technologies can be leveraged to optimize digital capabilities, which in turn enhance business capabilities and ultimately influence business strategy within the steel industry. By examining use cases from four leading steel producers and obtaining a list of emerging technologies, the research employs AHP analysis to quantify the impact of various technologies on digital capabilities. The study incorporates identified digital capabilities, business capabilities, and strategic goals as key inputs for capability-driven strategic planning. A capabilities map is created as a reference tool to enhance understanding, illustrating the effects of each input change. The significance of each capability in the organisation's strategy is assessed using the Capability-Strategy Matrix. Based on current strategic goals, capabilities are then prioritized.
