    Sammanfattning

One tool for health self-management is self-assessment, which enables people to evaluate their health conditions. Risk tests increase knowledge, but they can also motivate people to contact healthcare. This paper presents preliminary results of an ongoing survey study on the use of eHealth, focusing on the experiences and opinions regarding a diabetes risk test online (in particular). According to the findings, demographic factors have links to eHealth use, as women were more willing to use online services and higher education partly motivated people to adopt the services. In addition, usefulness and ease of use can contribute to perceiving risk tests positively, which in turn may influence user behavior. If the risk test would show an elevated risk for developing diabetes, it was most common for the respondents to seek more information from several sources or to make changes on their diet. The results could be beneficial for those working with eHealth development.
