Sammanfattning

The rarely studied Swedish bishop Peder Mansson (similar to 1460-1534) was the most famous Swedish author/writer at the transition from the Middle Ages to modern times; a much appreciated poet and pioneer in many fields. He wrote several books and essays on trade, economy and technology. Among these part of an essay in Swedish on glass making has been preserved. In the 1930s two translations appeared, one in German by O. Johannsen in 1932, one in English by S. E. Winbolt in 1933. But as they differ somewhat a new translation has been made. which follows Mansson's text as closely as possible.
