    Sammanfattning

The article is focused on the modern, secular state and society in relation to religion and the church, and on the radical change which Nordic societies undergo when the secularism, which is taken for granted  in the modern society is being questioned.  The Lutheran idea of two Kingdoms is related to this development. Philosophical insights given by Wittgenstein are seen as helpful tools in an attempt to come to grips with named development.
