Sammanfattning

Scanning electron microscopy coupled with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM-EDS) is widely used for microstructural and compositional characterization, and elemental maps are routinely employed to visualize the spatial distributions of selected elements. Although SEM images presented in the literature are often of high visual quality, the accompanying elemental maps can be less visually standardized, partly because their post-processing is commonly carried out through heterogeneous workflows. This can make consistent visualization and reproducible preparation of publication-quality elemental maps challenging. Elementti is a Python-based desktop graphical user interface (GUI) application developed as a contribution to more structured and reproducible processing and visualization of SEM-EDS elemental maps. The software provides a guided workflow for data handling, processing, visualization, and export, combining a user-oriented GUI with a Python-based numerical backend.
