Sammanfattning

This research is based on the assumption that corporate learning is key for organisational growth and performance, and that self-regulation is key for successful learning. Therefore, the design of corporate e-learning needs to support learners in the development of their self-regulatory abilities. This study targets how corporate e-learners manage learning in a self-paced e-learning course, in order to illuminate factors supporting self-regulation. Participants’ actions for learning are viewed from the theoretical perspective of self-regulated learning in which cognition, affect/motivation, behaviour, and context are seen as interdependent dynamics of the learning process. The study is undertaken during an iterative development process in order to frame an educational design research perspective of comparing design affordances for learning. Results highlight factors supporting and facilitating self-regulation for the design of corporate e-learning solutions.
