Doktorand Tiina-Reetta Laurén-Knuutila

I work as a special education teacher in Turku since 2001. Creating hope and optimism and finding suitable ways to support children, youth and their family motivate and inspire me as a teacher, as well as in my researcher role. With my research I want to deepen understanding on root causes behind school attendance problems and factors supporting return, reintegration and re-engagement to school after school absenteeism. With my research I wish to promote research-based education and holistic rehabilitation approach, as well as to develop interprofessional collaboration and accessible services for children, youth and their families.
