Beskrivning

This lecture addresses how different professionals can come together to conduct arts-based and artistic research. The lecture presents examples from a multi-professional research team consisting of researchers, artists, and teachers that conducted educational design research using arts-based research strategies when working with creative dance and poetry in a primary school (Jusslin, 2020). Design research brings researchers and practitioners together to generate both practical and theoretical knowledge as well as professional development for the partners involved – but what new perspectives do arts-based and artistic research offer this kind of collaborative research? The lecture raises questions about: How can arts-based research benefit from multi-professional collaboration? How does engaging in arts-based research provide opportunities for professional development and lifelong learning? What potentials and values does art-based research bring to research partners who are not artists? The lecture addresses dis/entanglements regarding who conducts research, how the research is conducted, why different professionals enter a research project, and finally, what kind of new knowledge a multi-professional research team engaged in arts-based research can generate. Ultimately, collaborative breakout discussions about seeking new collaborative partnerships, working in collaborative projects, and exploring new research opportunities are facilitated.
