N2 - Eu-based delafossite samples CuEuO2+δ, with δ = 0.00 and 0.67 were synthesized for 151Eu Mössbauer investigations. The value of the quadrupole coupling constant for the as-synthesized stoichiometric (δ = 0.00) and the oxygen-loaded (δ = 0.67) samples was eQgVzz = 9.4(2) and 6.1(2) mm/s, respectively. The asymmetry parameter η was 0.44(4) and 0.76(4), respectively. Lattice point-charge calculations reproduced the positive eQgVzz values and the increase of the asymmetry parameter η upon oxygen loading.
