From editorial: "The researcher Fred Andersson has for this issue studied the book covers of working class literature. He stresses especially the connection between author and illustrator/artist. These often had a close relationship and similar experiences." The main argument of the article is that these book covers bear testimony of a cooperation that, conditioned by the shared experiences and ideological commitments of author and artist, contributed substantially to the visual identity of working class culture in Sweden.
