Water is a basic human right, and United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 6 explicitly aims to provide everyone with access to clean water and sanitation. However, over two billion people worldwide still lack access to clean water. The case study engages with this global crisis by exploring the challenge of water scarcity faced by Sun Rosa Vineyard & Hotel in Georgia’s Kakheti region. The region is renowned for its wine culture, rich history, and stunning nature, but due to climate change and poor infrastructure management, water is only available for a few hours every 3–4 days. Under its new management, the hotel has outlined three water conservation strategies to prepare for the dry summer months—educational engagement, promotion of social norms, and fostering impact beliefs—each of which is grounded in different theoretical frameworks. The case study details the development and theoretical basis of these strategies and explores their effectiveness in achieving behavioral change with the aim of increased sustainability.
