Raha Sabet Sarvestany

I am an interdisciplinary scholar whose work bridges gender, religion, culture, and minority studies with a focus on agency, resilience, and social justice. Trained in Women's Studies (PhD) and Gender, Culture and Development (MA), my work explores how marginalized women, particularly in Iran, construct meaning. resistance, and collective strength in the face of persecution. 

My interdisciplinary approach combines feminist theory, the study of religion, culture, social movements, and oral history to foreground silenced narratives. My current postdoctoral project examines minority women's representation in international media, focusing on the intersections of gender, ethnicity, and power in Nordic contexts. 

I have taught courses on Gender and Religion at the Faculty of Theology at Oslo University in Norway, Ethnicity and Diversity at the Department of Sociology and Social Research at the University of Trento in Italy,  Gender and Iranian Culture at Department of Sociology at the Bahai Institute for Higher Education (BIHE) in Iran, Development and Religion at Department of Åublic Health at BIHE, Research Methodology at Departement of Sociology at BIHE. Research methodology, Bahai Studies, Sociology of Religion, Bahai Studies at the Department of Religious Studies at Turku University.
