My research focuses on how intersections of race, religion and gender amount into limited human rights protection for Muslim women. The aim of my reserach is to examine how whiteness is standardised in human rights law, and how the racialised Other is contructed and excluded in the case law of the European Court of Human Rights. Case law revolving around the hijab and face-veils will be analysed through the lens of Critical Race Theory to discuss matters related to racialisation, stereotyping, stigmatisation, anti-discrimination, religious rights and matter's of identity in human rights law.
