Abstract
In this article, written in Finnish, I trace the textual history of the Old Testament from the Finnish translations via modern eclectic editions and different textual traditions to second temple Jewish manuscripts and the textual situation in the 3rd century BCE.
Subsequently, I discuss the possible models in understanding the history of the texts and tradiitions prior to the extant evidence.
The article ends with a brief theological elaboration on how the contemporary discussion on textual history and scribal transmission as well as early reception history may challenge but also positively modifies the Christian (traditional) theological viewpoints on Scripture.
