Abstract
The article discusses the Sámi people, Europe's only recognized Indigenous nation, and their unique perspective on Arctic geopolitics. The Sámi challenge the state-centric view of the Arctic as a resource frontier, advocating instead for governance rooted in cultural survival, sustainability, and equity. They emphasize the importance of integrating Indigenous knowledge and values into discussions on Arctic governance, highlighting the need for cooperation, preservation, and respect for Indigenous sovereignty in the face of growing geopolitical pressures and climate change.
