Abstract
This case study explores the significant challenges associated with fossil fuel production and consumption, as well as energy access in sub-Saharan Africa. It introduces Amped Innovation, a company dedicated to providing reliable and affordable solar energy solutions for families and businesses. The study highlights how the company’s solar-powered devices stand out from those of its competitors and examines the challenges the company faces. Students will discuss how social and economic inequality contributes to energy poverty, the obstacles businesses like Amped must overcome, the limitations of solar energy, and the potential role of solar-powered innovations in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
