Abstract

Cancer exerts a significant influence on individuals, families, communities, and healthcare systems globally. The global endeavor to combat cancer necessitates a comprehensive strategy, encompassing collaboration among governments, healthcare providers, researchers, and communities, with the aim of alleviating the impact of this ailment. From a research point of view to overcome this dangerous disease, the researchers are actively involved to develop a diverse range of drug candidates that treat the cancer. Among organic compounds, β-lactam derivatives, carbazoles, isatin derivatives, pyrrolo-benzodiazepines, and pyrido[2,3-d] pyrimidines proved its potential as anticancer candidates. They are significantly displayed anticancer activity on different types of cancer cell lines. This chapter comprehensively summarized the anticancer potential of β-lactam derivatives, carbazoles, isatin derivatives, pyrrolo-benzodiazepines, and pyrido[2,3-d] pyrimidine derivatives.
