Abstract

Hydrogenation of nerol over Rh and Ru catalysts without a chiral modifier gave reaction products with enantiomeric access in some cases as high as 40%. This is the first reported example of a real enantiodifferentiation in a heterogeneous catalytic reaction, which does not require addition of any chiral modifiers.
