Abstract

In this paper, after the conceptual classification of High Pressure Scheme (HPS) and Low Pressure Scheme (LPS), an improved 4-column heat integrated methanol distillation scheme (OPTI-HPS) is presented with optimized heat integration through pinch technology. Simulative cases study and field operation both showed largely trimmed energy consumption compared with current 4-column methanol distillation scheme, the prototype, for HPS.
