Tutkimuksen tavoitteena on tehdä kokonaisvaltainen selvitys eri perusoikeuksien ja kansainvälisten sopimusten, erityisesti ihmisoikeussopimusten, vaikutuksesta kalastuksen järjestämiseen Ylä-Lapissa. Erityinen huomio kiinnitetään eri kalastajaryhmien oikeuksien suhteeseen verrattuna ympäristöperusoikeuteen, heidän oikeuteensa harjoittaa elinkeinoa ja heidän omaisuuden suojaansa sekä saamelaisten oikeuteen omaan kieleen ja kulttuuriin.
The aim of the project is to conduct a comprehensive study of the impact of various fundamental rights and international treaties, especially human rights treaties, on the organisation of fishing in Northern Lapland. Special attention will be paid to the rights of different groups of fishermen in relation to the environmental rights under the constitution, their right to engage in commercial activities and the protection of their property, and the right of the Sámi to their own language and culture.
