The project explores literary educational perspectives on complex picturebooks in the higher years of basic education. Through various studies, for example, by systematically reviewing previous research, exploring adolescents' interpretive work of complex picturebooks, discussing theoretical premises for literary education with complex picturebooks, and studying teachers' experiences of using picturebooks in literature teaching with adolescents, the project aims at contributing with knowledge on the role and function of complex picturebooks in secondary literary education.
