Project Details

Description

In the project we tackle two key research directions for the field of DNA Nanotechnology. First, we aimed at developing a generic kinetic modeling framework for DNA assembly systems, in which any DNA-based dynamical mechanism can be embedded and simulated numerically. The second major research direction is the development of the fundamentals of the algorithmic design of 3D reinforced nanostructures by use of the innovative DNA-origami beam-scaffolding technique (DNA-BEAM).

Key findings

We created VDNA-Lab a software tool for computational modeling, simulation, and visualization of DNA multi-strand dynamics

We propose a new design architecture for beam-scaffolding DNA bas-relief nanostructured
