Biography
I work as professor in the Study of Religions at Åbo Akademi University and Co-Director of the ÅAU Centre of Excellence in Research (2024-2028) "Religion and Social Exclusion" (RelEx).
I currently also function as the Principal Investigator for the project Christian Cultural Memory in the Margins: Vernacular Christian Practices in Finland (2023-2025).
I mainly conduct research and supervise in the following areas:
- The sociology of religion
- The discursive study of religion
- Religion, media, and popular culture
- Religion in market- and consumer society
- Religion and social exclusion
- Religion and young adults
- Method and theory in the Study of Religions
- Mixed methods approaches in the Study of Religions
