Personal profile

Research interests

My research interests span feminist urban studies, girlhood studies, youth studies, internet studies, and methodological inquiries within ethnography. I am particularly drawn to interdisciplinary approaches that intersect these areas. I aim to integrate research, scholarly writing, and poetic expression. I have focused on critical autoethnography, poetic inquiry, and interviewing techniques, contributing to publications in these domains.

Since completing my doctoral thesis, I have been working on girlhood and urban space (funded by The Turku Urban Research Programme), critical autoethnography, ethics, and poetic inquiry, and temporality in children’s and youth’s literature and culture, as well as temporality in combination with environmental questions (funded by Svenska litteratursällskapet i Finland).

Since 2023, I have served as the editor-in-chief of the journal Finsk Tidskrift (http://www.finsktidskrift.fi).

Teaching

I work as a university lecturer in Gender Studies, teaching and supervising at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels. I enjoy teaching at all levels, from the introductory course to courses aimed at post-graduate students, from courses in Gender Studies to courses more widely within the humanities. Additionally, I deliver lectures and workshops on university pedagogy. I regularly and extensively teach feminist theory, qualitative methods, creative academic writing, and methodology. I have facilitated seminars for BA and MA theses and currently supervise three doctoral researchers as the main supervisor.
