Biography
Sundbäck recieved her PhD in social policy in 2024. In her dissertation, she explored (dis)trust in institutional encounters between forced migrants and street-level bureaucrats in Finland and Sweden. Her current research focuses on the multifaceted phenomena of (dis)trust, migration in the welfare state and on street-level bureaucracy. Sundbäck works as a postdoc researcher in the project ‘Diversity, Trust and Two-Way Integration (Mobile Futures)’ funded by the Strategic Research Council established within the Research Council of Finland (2021-2027). In Mobile Futures Sundbäck explores (dis)trusting trajectories among stay-at-home mothers. Sundbäck is also affiliated with the research project Livics at FPV, focusing on identifying and counteracting language-based vulnerabilities in social work with children through the lens of professional discretion.
