Personal profile

Research interests

2018-2021 I am on research leave, as research fellow at the Centre for Ethics, University of Pardubice, Czech Republic. My research there mainly concerns two issues, forgiveness and Freud’s understanding of morality.

Philosophers and philosophical traditions I am engaging with primarily include the following:

• Wittgenstein

• Existential philosophy (Kierkegaard, Weil, Buber)

• Critical theory (Marx, Freud, Nietzsche, Adorno)

• Phenomenology (Heidegger, Arendt, Levinas)

• Hegel – Collingwood

Born in Vårby gård (south-west Stockholm), I grew up in Eskilstuna, where I attended Fröslundaskolan and S:t Eskils gymnasium. At Uppsala University I did my under- and postgraduate studies (major: comparative religion). After having defended my doctoral thesis there (in philosophy of religion), I left Sweden for Finland and the Department of philosophy at Åbo Akademi University, where I have lived and worked since then, nowadays as associate professor in philosophy. (I am also ‘docent’ in philosophy of religion (Uppsala University) and ‘docent’ in philosophy (Åbo Akademi University).)

Utöver de årligen återkommande filosofikurserna har jag dragit följande kurser vid ÅA: Metaetik; Språkfilosofi; Hegels "Andens fenomenologi"; Religionsfilosofi; Jagets filosofi; Heidegger; Atens tänkare; Hermeneutik; Kants moralfilosofi; Tragedins filosofi; Dygdetik; Marx "Kapitalet".
