Personal profile

My research is mainly linked to spacial patterns in marine biodiversity and how environmental variation affects species occurrence on different spatial scales. I work mainly with macroalgal communities,  modelling of species and habitat distributions and marine conservation (MPA networks).

I have over 15 year of experience with marine mapping and my work is tighlty linked to marine management. Currently I am mainly working on a project ÅlandSeaMap (2019-2023) where we are mapping marine underwater nature in the Åland Islands, with the aim to improve  ecosystem-based management of the marine areas. We also have smaller projects on spatial patterns in fauna associated with bladderwrack (Fucus vesiculosus).
