In my research, I explore the intersection of changing business models and the shift toward sustainable practices within the framework of a circular economy. The circular economy emphasizes regenerative systems and aims to minimize waste, making it a critical aspect of sustainable business practices. Drawing insights from current business and management literature, my work delves into the innovative business models that facilitate this transition. Business model innovation, as identified in systematic literature reviews, plays a fundamental role in aligning companies with sustainability and circularity objectives. I also consider the development of business model theory in the context of the circular economy.
Moreover, my research investigates the transformation of resource usage, emphasizing the departure from traditional linear production systems. Additionally, I explore strategies like local materials sourcing and sustainable shifts to contribute to the circular economy. The study recognizes business model innovation as a crucial capability for companies to achieve sustainability and circularity goals.
