Personal profile

Research interests

I am a PhD student in Information studies. The topic of my PhD project is affective information-seeking behaviours of teacher students: implications for learning and teaching information literacies.

My research is positioned in the Library and information science (LIS) subfield information behaviour. Information behaviour research is interested in the users interaction with information in a wide range of ways. I am focusing on how students at teacher education programs seek for information, their information-seeking behaviours, in formal educational contexts. The role of affective factors or behaviours are specifically studied.  In addition, the implications affective information-seeking behaviours may have for students´ learning information literacies are of interest.

Biography

I am a PhD student at Åbo Akademi University under supervision of professor Gunilla Widén.

I also work as an instruction librarian at Kristianstad University, Sweden. Here I teach teacher students information literacy, the abilities to seek for, use and critically evaluate information.
