Biography

Alireza Olama, a researcher at Åbo Akademi University, specializes in mathematical optimization, distributed and federated machine learning, and software development. Holding a Ph.D. from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil, he has developed the SCOT project—an open-source distributed optimization solver. His work extends to large-scale optimization problems and addresses complexities in distributed machine learning.
