Biography

In my doctoral thesis I developed a new perspective on illness, which I call an ethical view. By using the ordinary language philosophy of Ludwig Wittgenstein and by describing situations when we morally react on an other human being, I write out a premedical foundation for heatlhcare, diagnoses and medical theory. My work investigates diagnostics in general, and anorexia nervosa in particular. In my work I made interviews with women suffering from anorexia and also their parents and a psychiatrist. This resulted in an understanding of the importance of paying attention to the contexts in which illness is persent. The meaning of illness becomes visible in families, in how the human relations of the patient are affected and so forth. Im currently working on a post doc project on sexuality and diagnoses mainly given to men, both historically and in present. My work is crossdisciplinary: I combine philosophy, psychology. psychiatrity, gender studies and the idea of history.
