Description

3-month research visit at CFM (CSIC-UPV/EHU) and DIPC research centers in Spain, hosted by the Theory of Nanophotonics Group, led by Prof. Javier Aizpurua, where my co-supervisor, Dr. Zapata-Herrera is a member as a researcher.

Additionaldescription

The visit is planned for me to familiarize myself with the methods used by the group and Dr. Zapata-Herrera, and with the infrastructure at the DIPC, for the purpose of studying the optical properties of advanced nanophotonic systems based on the optical coupling of plasmonic metamaterials with chiral molecules. I have been studying the circular dichroism signal in these systems by means of numerical simulations implemented in the COMSOL Multiphysics software. We are aiming to implement a new approach with the numerical modeling of these systems by modifying the constitutive relations in COMSOL Multiphysics so that it would be applicable for simulation of chiral material coupled with plasmonic metamaterials. Furthermore, I have been using the Atlas high-performance computing (HPC), which is a reliable HPC cluster hosted by the DIPC Supercomputing Center. This visit was partly funded by the Svenska kulturfonden, and partly by the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC).
