Description

The goal of mobility is to develop an in vitro biofilm model using a cell-derived matrix (CDM) to mimic the conditions of infected wounds and growing dual-species biofilms on CDMs to observe interactions between the bacteria and the extracellular matrix components to evaluate the different antimicrobial drugs effect on resistant bacterial strains. Prof. Laaksonen prominent research and experiences in pharmaceutical nanotechnology and wound healing model along with Dr. Zahra, will provide a valuable opportunity to learn and develop a more realistic model for studying biofilm-associated infections, testing antibacterial treatments, and understanding bacterial behavior in wound settings. The main objective of this study is to develop the skills in wound healing model and facilitate knowledge transfer to Åbo Akademi University.
