Abstrakt

The author reviews a
collection of articles on Wittgenstein and modernism. The book highlights
especially (but not exclusively) ways in which Wittgenstein in the 1920s, in
the Tractatus and elsewhere, tackles with Modernist ideas about the limits of
language, perhaps suggesting a way out via poetry. This is very much in line
with the self-understanding of Modernist authors of the time, but not
necessarily with Witthenstein’s later ideas about language.
